Milan fashion week was one of my most fun experiences to date as the sun shone and I found a great friend in my driver Frederico who made sure I ate good everyday. Milan fashion week is always considered the worst fashion week host when it comes to using girls of colour on their catwalks and many black models actually skip Milan altogether because of this, medications however, cheap recently it has come to light (as it does every season) and I must admit there was a noticeable change to the reception of black girls on the runways. I myself walked nine shows there including Emilio Pucci and Giorgio Armani and also was a part of a bold statement by designer Phillip Plein who used an all black cast for his show including one of my idols, Alek Wek. photo 2 photo 3 photo 4 photo 1 In between running around to shows, castings and fittings, I managed to squeeze in shooting a look book for Italian design Marcelo Burlon which was so fun! I love his clothes and remember first seeing one of his tees in my brothers wardrobe so it was crazy to be shooting with him. photo 1 photo 3 photo 5 Giorgio Armani was my last show in Milan and afterwards I went to eat with my amazing friend Frederico for one last time before he dropped me to the airport and I flew to Paris for my final leg of fashion week. Im so tired all the time- give me five minutes sitting down and I fall into a deep sleep instantly. Luckily I'm renting my own apartment here by myself so I don't have to deal with stressful roommates or anything but I am just craving my own bed like nothing before. I have also been treating my stress with online shopping and have thus far accumulated several jumpers, two pairs of kicks, rick owens jeans and some other items I don't even remember (all of which you will see next week on the blog) so I think I'm ready to come home. Paris, be good to me.   Milan fashion week was one of my most fun experiences to date as the sun shone and I found a great friend in my driver Frederico who made sure I ate good everyday. Paris was great fun because I had my own apartment and space so my place became the hang out of myself, order Betty, no rx Devanie and my friend Philip who came from London. I did four shows in Paris as I was only able to do one day of castings due to the fact that Giorgio Armani in Milan was the last show there. Alexis Mabille (pic1) Chloe (2 and 3) Valentin Yudashkin (4) Moncler (5) vy4 vy1 vy2 vy vy3   One of my biggest shows in Paris was Chloe which was all about strong shapes and femininity which bold blues and khaki hues ruled the runway. The music was amazing with Nicki Minaj- Beez In The Trap remix playing in the background of the finale and I was so happy to be doing another big show with my friend Betty who I also did Tom Ford with. photo 1 photo 4 copy photo 2 photo 3 My last show of the season was Moncler who are best known for their amazing winter jackets but there show was far from cold- in fact the set was literally a jungle! They had skateboarding gorillas and leopard print looks too in blue hues and earthy browns. I enjoyed this show so much as I did it alongside Betty, site Devanie, Michelene, Samantha all of whom are good friends of mine and afterwards we ran around Paris taking pictures and eating then rushing back to my place to pack. photo 5 photo 1 photo 2 photo 3 photo 4 This fashion week has been one of my most successful since I began modelling but also one of the most draining; doing all four cities is not for the faint hearted and most girls don't really do it. A lot of black girls skip Milan and some models just do New York and Paris giving them a nice break in the middle of fashion week to relax. However, dispute how tiring it was and not being able to blog as much as I would've liked, I am so happy to have done it. Fashion Week almost doesn't feel real when you look back at it, it's crazy that I have been to four countries in six weeks and walked for such amazing designers and because of these shows I am already booking amazing work. I have nearly completed the remodel of my blog so in the next few weeks expect a completely new blog with better content, images, videos and more- bare with me!
