On the 14th of February I flew back to London from New York for the fashion week here! Valentines Day also my birthday but as you can see the job never really stops so I landed in London at around 8pm knowing the next day I would have a full day of castings. I came back to London with a whole extra suitcase filled with clothes that I had gotten for free from shows I had done during fashion week and let me tell you... the struggle from the baggage claim to meeting my parents was awful! No one ever helps me! I thought I'd show you guys some of my favourite freebies On the 14th of February I flew back to London from New York for the fashion week here! I thought I'd show you guys some of my favourite freebies Yesterday I had a crazy day of castings, doctor shows and fittings but all I could think about was how excited I was to walk for the Rihanna for River Island collection! On the Friday I did the fitting for the show and got an intimate look at the collection; its wicked! You can tell that Rihanna had a lot of input in the collection, pilule separating it from those celebrity face branded collections which don't even reflect the name! The collection has both Rihanna's feminine side as well as her love of street wear and cheeky elements such thigh splits and crop tops. Backstage of the show was busy to say the least as the set wasn't just a normal runway- in fact it was an industrial style staging to reflect the cool rawness of the collection. I had just had my make-up done when I was called over by a member of the crew; all of a sudden I was standing in front of Rihanna! The discussion at hand was whether she wanted me to have weave or not! She began stroking my hair and said in her sexy Bajan accent "I want her to have some long hair!". I then said to her "Do you remember me? I'm Leon's sister!" she immediately smiled and told me how she knew she recognised me and said how she remembered that I had just started modelling when she first met me (four years ago backstage at a Chris Brown concert) and then said how it was so dope that I was now modelling for her! The hair and make up was simple with the hair slicked back and one of Rihanna's favourite lip colours, viagra 40mg Ruby Woo by Mac, complimenting a sculpted brow. With tunes like F*cking Problem and Clique as the sound track for the show I was getting so excited backstage and so was Rihanna who was dancing and singing whilst making last minute adjustments to the models! She was so cool and didn't hide her enjoyment of seeing her collection come to life telling all of us individually how dope we looked! The show was great fun to do and afterwards everyone wanted a picture with Rih! She had a cool after party where I took one of my best friends Imani who is a big supporter of Rihanna and we went back stage with my brother to see her. All in all it was an epic night and was one of the most memorable shows I have done during London fashion week so far!
